At this time last year I was going through the same routine 20 miles down the road at Perkins County High School. It was my first teaching job (and actually, I was a student teacher for the first semester...strange situation and a long story!) and I was nervous beyond belief. Typically I'm a "grab life by the horns" type of gal, but last August I experienced a new set of emotions. We had just moved to this end of the state, far away from our family, friends, and everything we knew and this was my first "real" job. I wanted to go back to where we came from and I was very unsure about teaching.

This year my emotions are different. My husband and I have realized that despite being miles away from family and friends, we enjoy this end of the state. And I have come to understand that I love teaching. As I've worked in my new classroom over the last few weeks I've realized how excited I am to make the transition to a new school with a new set of students. It seems cheesy, but I am ready to begin teaching again!
